Incorrect Procedure Surgery
While wrong site surgery can be a serious surgical problem, incorrect procedures are also a major problem for patients. As surgery requires a great bond of trust between the patient undergoing life-endangering procedures and surgeons specially trained in their particular fields, when a surgeon performs the wrong procedure on the right location, the result can be catastrophically damaging. Beyond just the physical scars, patients can become unsure that their healthcare providers can be trusted, leading to psychological problems in future treatments.
